What is HAFF CAFF?

A premium reduced-caffeine coffee brand. We make two coffees: HAFF (half caff) and QUARTER (quarter caff), both blended to taste like proper coffee.

What is HAFF and what is QUARTER?

HAFF is 50% Swiss Water decaf and 50% premium Arabica. QUARTER is 75% Swiss Water decaf and 25% premium Arabica.

Why not just mix normal coffee and decaf myself?

You can, but two random bags of full caff and decaf don't necessarily work together or bring out the best in each other. We've done extensive taste testing to pair the perfect fully caffeinated and Swiss Water decaf beans for amazing-tasting coffee. It was quite a journey, and we're pretty confident you wouldn't be able to tell full caff, HAFF and QUARTER apart in a lineup.

What is Swiss Water Process?

A decaffeination method that removes caffeine without chemical solvents, using just water. We think it's a cleaner, better method, and it preserves more of the coffee's flavour.

How much caffeine is in a cup?

It depends on your brewing method and how many grams of coffee you use. Try our Caffeine Calculator for an estimate. Final per-gram caffeine details will be confirmed before the Founding Batch ships.

What does it taste like, and do HAFF and QUARTER taste the same?

Medium-dark roast, rich and full-bodied, chocolate and caramel-led, low acidity and smooth. That's the aim for both; we want you choosing your caffeine level, not choosing between two very different coffees. Final tasting notes will be confirmed before the Founding Batch ships.

Where do your beans come from?

We're finalising our sourcing and will share the full origin story before the Founding Batch ships. What we can say now: both blends are 100% Arabica, and the decaf component is Swiss Water Process.

Your choice. Both the 250g and 500g bags are available either way.

What grind size do you offer?

Whole bean, or ground to suit your brewer: Fine (espresso), Medium (filter or AeroPress) or Coarse (cafetière / French press). You pick when you order.

Can I subscribe, and can I mix HAFF and QUARTER?

Subscriptions are coming soon, with a planned 10% saving and free shipping included. The plan is mix and match: HAFF and HAFF, HAFF and QUARTER, or QUARTER and QUARTER. For now it's one-off orders - and those get free shipping too, on orders over £50.

Can I pause or change my order?

Subscription management isn't live yet. When subscriptions launch, the plan is to let you pause, skip a delivery, or change what's coming in your next box (swap HAFF for QUARTER, change your frequency, and so on) from your account, before your next order date.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions haven't launched yet, so there's nothing to cancel right now. When they do, the plan is simple: cancel any time from your account, no hassle and no need to speak to anyone.

We ship via Royal Mail. Standard delivery takes 2-4 working days once your order has been dispatched.

Right now we only ship within the UK. We're looking to expand to international shipping in future; sign up to our list and we'll let you know as soon as that changes.
